Tawang & Rhino Land Tour
Tawang Monastery – one of the largest in North-East India (second only to Potala Palace) is set against dramatic backdrop of snow clad mountains. Over 500 monks are resident of this monastery which has strong Tibetan influence. A 8 mt high gilded Buddha dominates the sanctum of monastery. Kaziranga National Park – the oldest national park of Assam , Kaziranga is home to great Indian one-horned Rhinoceros. Spread over 430 sq. km , its is a dazzling mosaic of dense rain forest , tall elephant grass and swath of reeds. Kaziranga is also home to wild elephants and other wild animals.

Day 1: Arrive Kolkata
Arrive Kolkata. Met on arrival and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Kolkata - Guwahati – Tezpur
Transfer to the airport to board flight to Guwahati. Met on arrival at Guwahati airport and drive to Tezpur (200 km). Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 3: Tezpur – Bhalukpong – Bomdila
Morning after breakfast drive to reach Bomdila (2580 mt). Enroute stop at Bhalukpong 65 kms from Tezpur for passport check. Bhalukpong serves as the border between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Later after 6 kms stop at TIPI ORCHID RESERCH CENTRE to see the small but beautifully maintained Orchidarium built in 1972. En route to Bomdila, also visit, tribal villages of "Bugun Tribe". On arrival, check into circuit house / hotel. In the evening visit Rupa Village of "Shertukpen Tribe". Rupa is the first significant village of Buddhist community. Walk down the street and visit a local house and Pema Choling Monastery.

Day 4: Bomdila
Morning after breakfast proceed for full day tour around Bomdila. Visit Lower Monastery and Gontse Gaden Rabgyaling Monastery which was innaugurated by HH The Dalai Lama in 1997. Later proceed to visit to Enthographic museum and local market. In the afternoon visit some of the nearby villages exploring the Tribal culture of Arunachal. Bomdila has 5 main tribes, Monpa, Shertukpen, Aka, Miji and Bogun tribes

Day 5: Bomdila - Dirang - Tawang
Morning drive to Tawang (3090 mt) via Dirang. Enroute visit Doom Dirang village and the traditional village of Monpa Tribe. Dirang Monastery and Hot springs. Stop en route at Sela pass (4152 mt) for some rest. On arrival, check-into hotel for overnight stay.

Day 6: Tawang
Visit the famous `Galden Namgyal Lhatse Monastery, known as Tawang Monastery’. This 1637-47 AD built gompa reflects the richness of Gelukspa sect of Mahayana Buddhism. Later drive to visit Ani Gompa (Nunnery Monastery). In the afternoon visit Urgyaling Gompa - the monastery belonging to the times of 6th Dalai Lama.

Day 7: Tawang - Bomdila
Morning return drive to Bomdila. Enroute visit the beautiful BOMDIL VILLAGE - entrance to the village is marked with beautiful water runned Prayer wheels. After an hours drive visit the LHADUNGN VILLAGE. If possible might be able to see women weaveing local dresses. Packed lunch enroute at Arathiri village 18 kms before Sela pass. Later after crossing over Sela pass arrive Bomdila by evening and check into SIPHIYANG PHONG for overnight stay.

Day 8: Bomdila - Tezpur - Kaziranga
In the morning visit `Bomdila Craft Center’. Afternoon drive to Kaziranga - The Rhino land. Spread over more than 340 sq. km of wet land, Kaziranga park is the place where one of the last creatures of the pre-historic age, the Rhinoceros, lives. Kaziranga park also attracts large numbers of migratory as well as resident birds. Overnight stay at the hotel

Day 9: Kaziranga
Morning - park safari for game viewing on elephant back. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 10: Kaziranga - Guwahati
Early morning proceed for Game viewing at Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary -famous for its one horned Rhinoceros and Royal Bengal Tigers. Later in the afternoon drive back to Guwahati and check-into hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11: Guwahati - Kolkata
In the morning, visit Kamakhya Temple and state museum. After an early lunch transfer to airport to board flight for Kolkota. Met upon arrival and transfer to hotel.

Day 12: Depart Kolkata
Day at leisure. Optional sightseeing of Kolkata city. Later transfer to International airport in time to board flight for overseas destination.
